George R. R. Martin, creator of the books The Chronicles of Ice and Fire, visited the set of filming of the latest Game of Thrones spin-off and even had the opportunity to see the first episode.
This spin-off is called A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and Martin used his personal blog to describe his experience and share some opinions about everything he saw.
“I was very happy when I arrived there and saw what Ira (the creator of the series) and his team had built,” the author said. “Meeting the cast and crew was also thrilling. Despite the drizzle and mud, the excitement on set was palpable. Everyone I met seemed to be in great spirits and loved what they were doing.”
“And Dunk and Egg – Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell, respectively – seemed to have just stepped out of the pages of my book, and the chemistry between them was simply perfect.” It is worth noting that this spin-off is based on “Tales of Dunk and Egg,” a series of fantasy stories set in the Game of Thrones universe.
In the post, Martin reveals that this project will have a much smaller budget than Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon, and he mentioned that he has already watched a rough cut of the first episode.
“A few weeks after returning home, I saw a rough cut of the first episode. I loved it. I can’t wait to see more,” he said.
