The Latest on Ghost of Yōtei: A Game Changer
Digital Foundry has analyzed Ghost of Yōtei, the latest game from Sucker Punch, and determined that it is not just a repeat of its predecessor. With a more intricate storyline, a vibrant game world, and technical surprises like unannounced ray tracing, this game is set to redefine the gaming experience.
The Hidden Ray Tracing Feature
One of the major revelations by Digital Foundry was the presence of ray tracing in Ghost of Yōtei. This feature, although not officially disclosed, is available on both the standard PS5 and the PS5 Pro. On the Pro model, players can enjoy the game at 60 fps with ray tracing enabled, resulting in enhanced lighting, reflections, and depth perception compared to the original game.
Graphics Modes for Everyone
Ghost of Yōtei on the PS5 Pro offers four graphics modes for players to choose from: maximum quality at 4K/30fps without ray tracing, 60fps performance with reduced resolution, ray tracing at 30fps, and the RT Pro mode combining ray tracing, 60fps, and image reconstruction techniques. Digital Foundry reports solid performance across all modes, with only minor sound issues observed during large battles, which are expected to be resolved in future updates.
