So, guess who’s crashing the Mortal Kombat 1 party? Homelander from The Boys and Omni-Man from Invincible are making a guest appearance, and NetherRealm Studios promises they won’t be just carbon copies of each other.
There’s been some chatter in the Mortal Kombat 1 community about these two new fighters being too similar, but fear not! Ed Boon spilled the beans to IGN and assured fans that while they may share some special moves, Homelander and Omni-Man will each bring their own flavor to the game.
“We could totally give them both heat vision, but that’s not how we roll,” Boon explained. “They won’t just be clones of each other. Playing with each one will offer a different experience.”
While their main attacks will set them apart, NetherRealm Studios is well aware of the concerns. Boon added, “We know some folks are thinking, ‘Oh, they’re just gonna be the same character.’ Trust us, they won’t be.”
Mark your calendars for September 14 when Mortal Kombat 1 drops for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, and Nintendo Switch. It’s time to dive into this new chapter of the iconic series!
