Two years ago, we reviewed the first game in the Hot Wheels Unleashed series, a collaboration with Mattel, the brand behind the iconic toy cars and tracks. While the debut game met minimum expectations, the sequel, Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged, is even better. The sequel features a revamped campaign with races and special events, a variety of tracks and cars to choose from, and improved gameplay mechanics, including nitro boosts and drift techniques.

Players control small vehicles on plastic tracks set in realistic scenarios, with models from the Hot Wheels brand that closely resemble the original toys. The campaign is the core of this Turbocharged edition, featuring a simple narrative with various challenges and a wide variety of vehicles to choose from, totaling 130.

The driving sensation in the game has significantly improved, offering a fun and challenging experience reminiscent of aircraft games like Wipeout. The visual production is well-executed, with high frame rates and no glitches. Players can also customize tracks and cars, adding a personal touch to the game.

Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged excels in its focus on the campaign and track editor, offering a fun and competitive experience for players. While some races may feel repetitive, the gameplay and visual consistency ensure an enjoyable gaming experience.
