Warner Bros. and studio Player First Games have confirmed that Mark Hamill will once again play the character Joker in the fighting game MultiVersus. The actor announced some time ago that due to the death of Kevin Conroy – longtime actor of Batman – he would step down from the role of the iconic villain.
However, since Conroy recorded his lines for the fighting game just before his death, this allowed Hamill to agree to voice the Joker once again. It is possible that Multiversus will be the last game with Conroy and Hamill as Batman and Joker.
DC fans were captivated by the performances of both actors, who lent their voices to multiple projects, including Batman: The Animated Series and the Batman Arkham games.
MultiVersus, released as an open beta in July 2022, is a crossover fighting game in the style of Smash Bros with characters from a variety of Warner Bros. properties, including DC Comics, Looney Tunes, Cartoon Network, Game of Thrones, Tom & Jerry, Gremlins, Rick & Morty, and Iron Giant.
MultiVersus is scheduled for May 28 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
