Microsoft stops selling and renting movies and series on Xbox and Windows stores
Microsoft has made a big change by no longer offering movies and series for sale or rent in its digital stores for Xbox and Windows consoles. As of July 18, the company announced that they are no longer selling new movies and TV content. However, you can still access any previously purchased content on your Windows and Xbox devices.
Access to purchased content remains available
Don’t worry about losing access to the movies and shows you’ve already bought. According to the official Microsoft page, you can still play your personal videos on Xbox devices and have playback access, including downloaded content, on Windows devices.
Alternative digital platforms recommended
If you’re in need of a new place to buy or rent movies and TV shows, Microsoft suggests checking out other digital platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and FandangoNow, among others. These services are still available and ready for your entertainment needs.
