Recently, a new teaser for the upcoming Superman movie from DC Studios has been circulating on televisions across the United States. The new brief video includes scenes that have already been seen, but also features new scenes, including one in which Superman is flying, sparking conversation.
David Corenswet as Superman
In the scene, visible towards the end of the teaser, you can see David Corenswet as Superman flying amidst ice and spinning to avoid falling debris. After the scene was shown, criticisms arose regarding the quality of Corenswet’s face and questions about the possible use of CGI, which prompted Gunn to once again defend the production’s quality.
Director’s Response
The director and scriptwriter of Superman stated, “absolutely zero CG on his face. People’s faces can look different when you put a wide angle lens up close. The background in Svalbard is 100% real just like David.”
Assurance on CGI Use
In response to the criticisms surrounding the scene, particularly regarding Corenswet’s face, Gunn assured that they did not use CGI to adjust or alter the actor’s face. Even though the transition between movements, when he spins in the air, may seem odd to some, Gunn confirms that CGI is not being used.
Superman Premiere
Superman is set to premiere in July in theaters.
