Battlefield 6: Aim Assist 2.0
Battlefield 6 is scheduled to implement a new aim assistance system known as Aim Assist 2.0. Developed by the studio, this system is designed to be lightweight and less intrusive than previous versions, with the aim of emphasizing the player’s skill and reducing the perception that technology is taking over the gameplay.
From a technical perspective, the team has moved away from using fixed boxes or spheres to define the assistance area, opting instead for a method based on real-time renderings and capsule-oriented meshes. Certain features found in Battlefield 2042, such as rotational aim assistance and instant zoom, have been removed in order to maintain a more balanced level of assistance without compromising the competitiveness of the game, particularly in cross-play scenarios between controller and keyboard/mouse users.
Improving Controller Assistance
Addressing a common limitation with controller assistance, which often restricts faster movements like quick 180-degree turns, the studio has introduced the quick turn option (or flick stick) and fine-tuned the values to ensure that assistance does not impede movements requiring greater freedom.
