John Malkovich’s Removal from Fantastic Four: First Steps
The original teaser for the movie Fantastic Four: First Steps from Marvel Studios featured John Malkovich, who was set to enter this cinematic universe as one of the villains. However, his name is not even present in the credits and his scenes were removed from the film, which means he is not part of Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Director’s Decision to Change the Film
Director Matt Shakman confirmed that the final version is different from what was initially planned, but they decided to go with it because it made more sense. He also confirmed that Red Ghost was initially important for the overall film, with initial scenes showing a fight between the Fantastic Four and this villain.
Shakman mentioned that these scenes showcased an “incredible performance” by Malkovich, but they were removed due to the pacing of the film and to get to the main story more quickly.
