The Koei Tecmo company, known for series like Ninja Gaiden, Nioh, Atelier, and Dynasty Warriors, among others, has informed investors that their long-term plan is to strengthen themselves to develop more AAA games for PC and consoles.
Creating a new in-house studio dedicated to AAA games, aiming for annual large-scale releases, and already starting to hire employees to achieve these goals, the company’s plan involves hiring up to 5,000 new employees, according to information from Japan.
With the launch of new hardware expected to result in the growth of the console and PC market, especially now that Korean and Chinese developers are attracting new players to this space, Koei Tecmo is motivated to invest in games of greater ambition and quality.
Believing that the mobile market has already matured and won’t experience significant growth, the Japanese producer is shifting its focus to consoles and PC, currently working on Dynasty Warriors Origins, Fairy Tail 2, Atelier Yumia, and a new title in their new AAA studio.
