Konami is currently running a survey to determine which game from the Metal Gear saga fans would most like to see remastered. The survey was introduced alongside the Metal Gear Production Hotline at the Tokyo Game Show 2025, posing the question: which installment from the series would you most want to experience in a remastered version?
The list of potential candidates for remastering spanned from the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, to beloved classics such as Metal Gear Solid for the PlayStation 1 and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, as well as more recent titles like MGS4, Peace Walker, Ground Zeroes, and The Phantom Pain. Surprisingly absent from the list were Metal Gear Rising and Metal Gear Survive.
This survey arrives on the heels of the release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater in late August 2025, indicating a strategic move by Konami to gauge interest in revisiting older games versus exploring newer chapters in the saga. It appears that the company is setting the stage for additional remakes within the series, with a clear focus on bringing classic installments to the current generation of gamers.
