Baldur’s Gate 3: The Game Awards 2023
Baldur’s Gate 3 was one of the biggest hits of the year, both with critics and audiences, and is poised to take home the award for Best Game at The Game Awards 2023.
It seems like the studio Larian has gained a lot of confidence thanks to the huge success of Baldur’s Gate 3. The Belgian producers are already planning their next project and announcing that they intend to push it to the limit.
This is what Swen Vincke, the studio head, said on his official X platform account about the nomination for The Game Awards:
“This is a real honor, especially in a year with so many releases. Seeing our little ‘niche rpg’ making such waves is very motivating. I wish I could tell you more about our next big game, but this really encourages us to ensure it pushes many boundaries. I’m very excited about it.”

You can see the tweet below. Interestingly, an internet user commented on the statement, writing that the studio went from being a “David” to a “Goliath,” using the iconic classic story as a reference. Vincke replied: “That scares us, but in a good way, I think.”
Indeed, Larian and Baldur’s Gate 3 caused a stir at the Golden Joystick Awards 2023, having won a total of 7 awards: Game of the Year, Best Narrative, Best Visual Design, Best Community, Best Support Performance, PC Game of the Year, and Studio of the Year.
