Lego Horizon Adventures: A Child-Friendly Adaptation
Lego Horizon Adventures is the latest PlayStation Studios bet for the younger audience, aiming to adapt Aloy’s first adventure into a digestible format for children. Despite maintaining the main mechanics and concepts of the original game, the colorful block world may also captivate adults at an initial stage.
A Playful Roguelite Experience
In Lego Horizon Adventures, players control four characters in various areas inspired by Aloy’s original game, each with unique weapons and gadgets. The combat gameplay brings diversity and depth, with crazy and comical gadgets that add a playful element to the experience. While the game gives the idea of a roguelite for children in combat and design, it may fall short in delivering a fully engaging experience beyond that.
Aesthetically Pleasing Yet Simplified
With impressive graphic quality and visually stunning moments, Lego Horizon Adventures is a beautiful game to admire. However, the design remains basic, lacking the brilliance and excitement found in more complex platforming games. While combat moments bring some excitement, the overall experience may feel too simplistic for older players.
