The television adaptation of the game Life is Strange is moving forward with Amazon Studios, as the production company dj2 Entertainment has signed a first-look deal with the studio. This agreement gives Amazon priority in distributing dj2’s projects, including the series based on the popular Square Enix game.
Produced by LuckyChap Entertainment, Margot Robbie’s production company, the series will be led by writer Charlie Covell. Covell, known for her work on The End of the F***ing World and I Am Not Okay With This, will be joined by director Jonathan Entwistle, with whom she has previously collaborated on other projects.
The series will revolve around the story of Max Caulfield, a photography student who discovers her ability to rewind time. Exploring themes of friendship, choices, and consequences, the adaptation aims to capture the emotional essence that resonated with fans of the game.
Singer Shawn Mendes has been announced as an executive producer for the series, overseeing the music aspect, a crucial element in the original game. With artists like Alt-J, Angus & Julia Stone, and Syd Matters featured on the game’s soundtrack, the series is expected to maintain a similar musical perspective.
Although the project is currently in production, details regarding the cast and premiere date have not been disclosed yet.
