Miami Vice is making a comeback to the big screen with a new remake directed by Joseph Kosinski, known for his work on Top Gun: Maverick and other projects.

According to Deadline, Universal Pictures is bringing back the 80s TV series with a script penned by Dan Gilroy. The original show aired for 5 seasons from 1984 to 1989 and had a previous film adaptation in 2006, starring Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell, directed by Michael Mann.
Plot details for the upcoming Miami Vice film have not been revealed yet. Kosinski will not only direct but also produce the film through his company Monolith, with the assistance of Dylan Clark.
