The Microsoft AI Innovation Factory initiative has made its way to Portugal, with support from Accenture, Avanade, and Unicorn Factory Lisboa. According to Microsoft Portugal and IDC, a significant percentage of Portuguese companies are already using Artificial Intelligence, with many more planning to deploy it in the near future. This has led to a focused effort on accelerating the adoption of AI by both public and private companies in Portugal.
Training plays a key role in promoting the adoption of Artificial Intelligence in Portugal, and the AI Innovation Factory aims to drive digital innovation across various ecosystems. Currently in the works, the AI Innovation Factory will be housed within the AI Hub of Unicorn Factory in Alvalade, with an expected opening date in November 2024. In the meantime, the program will be hosted at Microsoft’s facilities in Parque das Nações or at the partners’ headquarters.
Microsoft Portugal highlights that local companies are on par with their European counterparts in terms of AI implementation plans. A significant number of organizations in Portugal are already using public cloud platforms for AI testing and development, and there is a strong emphasis on the importance of a responsible AI strategy. The study conducted by Microsoft and IDC further reveals a growing eagerness among companies to adopt AI technology, with a substantial portion already using AI tools and more planning to do so in the coming months.
