EA Confirms Battlefield 6 Won’t be Released on Nintendo Switch 2
EA has confirmed that Battlefield 6 will not be released on the Nintendo Switch 2, at least for the time being. This information was shared by Vince Zampella, the game’s director, in an interview with Eurogamer, where he explained that the studio’s focus is on developing for the platforms where the main audience of the series is located: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Game Details and Release Date
Despite being “a big fan of the Switch,” Zampella stated that the studio currently has no plans to release the game on Nintendo’s new console. The decision seems to be related to the technical and competitive nature of the Battlefield series, which traditionally relies on more robust hardware to support its large-scale multiplayer features.
EA unveiled the first official trailer of Battlefield 6’s multiplayer mode during an international press and content creator presentation event. The game is scheduled for release on October 10 and will have two open beta phases in August: the first will take place between August 9 and 10, and the second between August 14 and 17. There will also be early access for those who pre-order, starting from August 7.
Future Possibilities for Nintendo Switch 2
For now, players with a Switch 2 will have to wait for possible updates in the future, although there is no indication that EA intends to change its plans.
