PlayStation 5 System Update Introduces Multi-Device Pairing
Starting tomorrow, on September 17, 2025, the PlayStation 5 will be receiving a system update that brings an important functionality to the DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers. This update allows users to pair the controllers with up to four different devices simultaneously, such as PS5, PC, Mac, Android, or iOS, and switch between them quickly without the need to re-pair.
New Feature for Seamless Device Transition
After the update, users can associate each device with one of the four available slots on the controller. To switch between paired devices, simply press the PS button along with the corresponding action button for the desired device (triangle, circle, cross, or square). This feature makes it easy to transition between different platforms, like playing on the PS5 and continuing the session on a PC or smartphone, without the hassle of repeating the pairing process.
The feature will be available for all PS5 users starting tomorrow, with no need to participate in beta programs. To use this new feature, ensure that the controller is not connected via USB cable during the pairing process. This update aims to enhance flexibility and convenience for users who frequently switch between different devices.
