PLAION and Retro Games Ltd. bring back the Spectrum
PLAION and Retro Games Ltd. have joined forces to bring back the Spectrum to stores, a revamped version of Sir Clive Sinclair’s ZX Spectrum in which the original design has been respected, but with new technology inside.
Ready to awaken nostalgia, the Spectrum allows for a completely faithful recreation of the original 48k ZX design, including 48 pre-installed games such as Manic Miner, Horace Goes Skiing, and The Hobbit, among many others that will bring back childhood memories to many players.
New features and availability
In this quest to go back to Christmas 1982, PLAION and Retro Games have made sure that this Spectrum emulates all ZX Spectrum models, from 16k to 128k, fully licensed, allowing you to play all games just like in the original models. It includes new features such as rewinding gameplay up to 40 seconds to correct mistakes, and even allows you to save the game at any point in gameplay.
If you wish, you can use a USB stick to add more games, which you can play with a CRT filter. Alternatively, you can connect the new Spectrum to a modern TV and play up to 720p with a variety of controllers, in case the keys are not to your liking.
The Spectrum is available starting today, November 22, for 99 euros in stores.
