Xbox’s Phil Spencer Confirms Development of Rare’s Everwild
Xbox’s head, Phil Spencer, has confirmed that the next game from Rare studio – Everwild – is still in production and has not been canceled.
Furthermore, Spencer states that the team behind the project is being given all the time necessary to develop the game and admits that there is progress in production.
“I was recently at Rare. It’s great to see the Everwild team and the progress they are making,” he reveals when asked about which first-party games still in development he was most looking forward to.
“It has been [a while]. And we are able to give these teams the time they need for what they are doing, which is great, and still have a portfolio like ours. It’s like a dream that Matt [Booty] and I have had for a long time, so it’s finally good to be there. We can give time to these teams.”
Everwild was first revealed at the end of 2019 and then showcased again in the summer of 2020 with a slightly more revealing trailer; since then, information has been scarce.
