Red Dead Redemption Remaster: A Disappointment?
The official announcement of Red Dead Redemption for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch with a release date set for August 17, was expected to be a celebration of the game, possibly a remaster. However, it has turned into a disappointment.
This version includes the Undead Nightmare expansion and all the content from the Game of the Year Edition for the price of 49 euros, but it’s causing a stir due to the lack of significant improvements and the possibility of playing it at 4K on an Xbox One X, thanks to the Xbox’s backward compatibility technology.
A Controversial Price Tag
In a conversation with IGN, courtesy of Gamingbolt, following the latest investor conference, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, the owner of Rockstar Games, stated that they believe this is the commercially correct price for this version.
Furthermore, he emphasizes that this version includes Undead Nightmare “which was a great game sold separately on its own merits when it was originally released, so we feel it’s a kind of good package for the first time, and certainly a good value for consumers.”
Is it Worth the Hype?
Zelnick defends the price of the Red Dead Redemption port in this way, with all the content present in one edition, and practically ensures that nothing will be done after so many criticisms.
This version of Red Dead Redemption will have a physical release in October.
