The folks over at Respawn Entertainment are best known these days for Star Wars Jedi and Apex Legends, but let’s not forget about their roots with Titanfall, a game that really showed off their creative chops. Sometimes, though, not all their ideas make it to the finish line and see the light of day, just like what happened with one of their recent projects.
Former production coordinator Emilee Evans spilled the beans on her resume about a secret project she worked on at Respawn that ended up getting canned. This project was part of their incubation program, where they were trying to come up with a new game concept, but unfortunately, things didn’t quite work out as planned.
The cancellation of this mystery project not only left Evans out of a job, but it also likely affected others who were involved in its development. Rumors say it was going to be a multiplayer FPS set in a brand-new universe, although nothing official was ever confirmed.
While some die-hard Titanfall fans are still holding out hope for a third installment, it seems like Respawn is more focused on rolling out Apex Legends 2 and Star Wars Jedi 3. We’ll just have to sit tight and see what the future holds for the studio, while enjoying their current offerings in the meantime.
