The Spanish studio Tequila Works, known for games like RiME, Gylt, and Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story, has unfortunately filed for bankruptcy. In a recent statement, the newly appointed CEO, Térence Mosca, mentioned that prolonged market conditions led to this decision, despite being proud of the team’s achievements. The founders of Tequila Works have stepped down, with Mosca taking over as CEO.
Tequila Works, founded in 2009, has always focused on creating games with style and taste. Despite the challenging situation, the studio is committed to supporting and guiding its teams through this difficult time.
The studio had been working on projects financed by Tencent since 2022, but unfortunately, this funding was canceled, leaving Tequila Works in a financially unstable position.
