Is Ballistic Moon’s Game Over?
Rumors are swirling that Ballistic Moon, the studio behind the remake of Until Dawn for PlayStation 5 and PC, may have shut down. Yikes!
Struggling to Keep afloat
In September 2024, just a month before the remake was due to be released, the British studio laid off some employees. And to add to the blow, the small team left to support the remake was also let go in December 2024.
According to Insider-Gaming, around 40 people were laid off in September, with another 20 facing the same fate in December. Ouch. With only the founders remaining, there’s no one to assist players needing support while playing the remake.
Ballistic Moon tried to secure funding for new projects and sought partnerships for future games, possibly collaborating with Sony once more. Unfortunately, their efforts didn’t pan out, leading to the unfortunate layoffs.
Although the studio hasn’t officially confirmed the closure, former employees report that the offices are deserted. It looks like it might be game over for Ballistic Moon after all.
