Bankruptcy Declared by Axis Studios, Producer of Disney+ Series Marvel’s Eyes of Wakanda
Axis Studios, the production company behind hit Disney+ series like Marvel’s Eyes of Wakanda, has officially declared bankruptcy and shut down.
Marvel’s Eyes of Wakanda, a series focusing on Black Panther and the fictional nation of Wakanda, marked the final project for Axis Studios. The studio had previously been involved in projects such as Netflix’s Love, Death and Robots, as well as creating videos for popular franchises like Halo and League of Legends. According to Forbes, the closure of Axis Studios left many talented artists without jobs.
A Dive into Eyes of Wakanda
Eyes of Wakanda is a 4-episode miniseries, with each episode running for 30 minutes. The show follows the adventures of Wakandan warriors on perilous missions across different periods in the nation’s history. Despite receiving critical acclaim with an average Rotten Tomatoes rating of 92%, the series only managed a 52% audience score.
Despite the success of Eyes of Wakanda, which quickly became one of the most-watched series on Disney+ following its premiere on August 1st and dominated viewership in numerous regions, Axis Studios was unable to continue working on the planned second season for Marvel.
