Heart Machine discontinues development of Hyper Light Breaker
Heart Machine has officially announced the cessation of development for the game Hyper Light Breaker, along with the unfortunate news of employee layoffs.
Initially released in January 2025 for PC as an early access title, Hyper Light Breaker transports players back into the universe of Hyper Light Drifter, offering a 3D gaming experience with a unique gameplay style that has generated mixed reactions within the gaming community.
Reasons behind the decision
The studio has made the difficult decision to conclude the early access phase and halt further development of Hyper Light Breaker, a move that has unfortunately resulted in an unspecified number of staff members being let go. Studio executives acknowledge that this was not the desired outcome, but deemed it necessary under the circumstances.
