PlayStation 5 Leads Console Sales in February
The PlayStation 5 was the best-selling console in February in the United States, during which Hogwarts Legacy was the top-selling game.
According to the NPD Group, $495 million was spent in the United States in February 2023 on console purchases, marking the best February for the industry since 2009.
The PS5 was the main driver of growth and was the best-selling console in terms of units and revenue generated. In the first two months of 2023, money spent on console purchases increased by 29% compared to the same period in 2022.
Hogwarts Legacy Dominates Sales Charts
Following Hogwarts Legacy in the top spot, the second best debut was Wild Hearts from EA, which secured eighth place, ahead of Like a Dragon Ishin in ninth and Octopath Traveler 2 in tenth.
Hogwarts Legacy was the standout performer, being the best-selling PlayStation game in February, the best-selling PC game in February, and the best-selling Xbox game in February. It remains the top-selling game in the first 2 months of 2023.
The Last of Us Part 1 for the PS5 saw a new surge in sales and returned to the list of top 10 best-sellers, ranking sixth.
