Jake Schreier’s Role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
Jake Schreier, director of Thunderbolts, is considered a key figure associated with the director role in the first X-Men movie in the Marvel Studios cinematic universe. However, Schreier himself has not confirmed this information.
“Even if I were confirmed for this movie, I think I wouldn’t have permission to answer that question. I think I would say that it always starts with the characters and working with great writers and collaborators, and certainly thinking about how to do something different with any project you take on. That’s the most I would say,” Schreier said at a recent event in Malta.
Praise for Thunderbolts and Schreier’s Direction
The praise for Thunderbolts has elevated Schreier’s reputation as a director, with Disney’s president, Bob Iger, highlighting the film as an example of the new era of Marvel Studios, prioritizing quality over quantity.
However, director Ryan Coogler of Black Panther 3 publicly acknowledged that Schreier was chosen for X-Men. Additionally, Gizmodo reported that Marvel Studios itself confirmed this information after a request for comment. Therefore, an official announcement regarding Schreier’s involvement may be imminent.
