After months of speculation about a remaster of Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar Games surprised by denying the announcement of a PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch port of their classic, originally released on Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2010.
Rockstar says that Red Dead Redemption on PS4 and Switch is a conversion of the classic and is priced at 49 euros. Considering the apparent lack of improvements, absence of a PC version, absence of a native version for the PS5, and the fact that the game runs at 4K on Xbox Series through Microsoft’s excellent work, this did not sit well with the community.
Currently, you can buy Red Dead Redemption for 30 euros on the Xbox digital store and play the original Xbox 360 version on an Xbox One or Xbox Series. On Xbox One X and Xbox Series X, you can even play at 4K and enjoy the backward compatibility technology created by Microsoft.
Asking for more money for a direct port is drawing harsh criticism towards Rockstar Games and unlike the incredible celebration fans were hoping for when imagining the announcement of a Red Dead Redemption Remaster, they are expressing their disappointment in what the company decided to do.
Red dead redemption, what we wanted:
– Remake, the map is in rdr 2 already
– 60 fps
– Dualsense features
– Only current gen version (Ps5, Xbox series, good PC)
– The ultimate version
What we GOT:
– a 30 fps port
– no 60 fps
– no remake or remaster
– Rockstar not caring ☹️ pic.twitter.com/8BWHtK7SEM
