However, according to producer Yoshinori Kitase, this task presents significant challenges and would require a substantial amount of time to accomplish. Kitase revealed that it took approximately 10 years to remake Final Fantasy 7 up to the Rebirth version. If Square Enix were to embark on a similar journey with Final Fantasy 6, Kitase estimated that it could potentially take twice as long. The producer emphasized that the sheer scope of FF6, with its diverse cast of characters, would make the task even more daunting than the FF7 Remake project.

Despite the enthusiasm within the company to undertake a FF6 remake, Kitase expressed frustration at not being able to provide a definitive answer to fans’ pleas. The uncertainty surrounding the possibility of a FF6 remake continues to linger, much to Kitase’s chagrin.
