Resident Evil 2 Remake: The Franchise Revival
Resident Evil 2 Remake has solidified its position as the best-selling game in Capcom’s popular series, showcasing the franchise’s revival after stumbling in the past, before returning to its roots and reclaiming its glory.
In August of this year, Capcom announced that Resident Evil 2 Remake had sold 12.6 million units, and now that number has been updated to 13.1 million units sold as of September 30, 2023. This means an additional 500,000 units were sold between July and September 2023.
The title, released in January 2019, remains popular and continues to sell steadily, even years after its release, with over 1.5 million units sold in 2023 alone.
Resident Evil Franchise Sales
The Resident Evil 2 remake surpasses Resident Evil 7 and its 12.7 million units sold, as well as the 8.9 million units sold of Resident Evil 5 (RE 6 also achieved this number).
Resident Evil Village has reached 8.7 million units sold, Resident Evil 3 Remake has surpassed 8 million units, and Resident Evil 4 Remake sold an additional 500,000 units in these three months, reaching a total of 5.4 million units.
