Toei Animation Announces New Voice for Sabo in One Piece
Toei Animation has officially confirmed that the next episode of the anime One Piece will already feature the new voice of Sabo, following the scandal surrounding the original actor that resulted in his replacement.
Miyu Irino Takes Over as the Voice of Sabo
Miyu Irino (known for voicing Sora in Kingdom Hearts) is the new voice of Sabo in One Piece, starting from episode 1116 which will be broadcasted next Sunday, August 18, 2024.
Irino will be taking the place of Toru Furuya, who in June found himself at the center of a scandal after a four and a half year relationship with a fan was uncovered. The discovery of instances of domestic violence and pressuring the fan to undergo an abortion shocked fans.
Furuya was asked to step down from several of his ongoing projects, which he accepted to do, including leaving his work on Metaphor: ReFantazio, the new RPG from Atlus.
