Sonic the Hedgehog and Other SEGA IP’s Set for Resurgence
Director of operations at SEGA, Shuji Utsumi, revealed at a Web Summit conference in Lisbon that Sonic the Hedgehog is experiencing a resurgence in various markets. Following the success of Sonic adaptations in movies, the SEGA aims to capitalize on this potential by bringing more of their popular IP’s to different forms of entertainment.
Beyond Sonic, Utsumi hinted at the revival of other classic SEGA IP’s, mentioning Persona and the Yakuza titles. He expressed a desire to explore different business areas such as Roblox and movies, suggesting that these IP’s could soon expand beyond just games.
