Sony Pictures Television has announced the series S.W.A.T. Exiles, a spin-off of the series S.W.A.T. that will focus on Daniel Harrelson, better known as Hondo, played by actor Shemar Moore.
Keeping this universe alive, which has become one of CBS’s biggest hits in recent years, S.W.A.T. Exiles will ensure that the more than 200 people who worked on the production of the 8 seasons of S.W.A.T. will continue to have work.
Filming for S.W.A.T. Exiles will begin in a few weeks in Los Angeles, with a team led by Jason Ning from Lucifer, as reported by Deadline. The plan is to produce 10 episodes, which have not yet found a home for airing.
The finale of S.W.A.T. Season 8, the final season of the series, aired on May 16th, but with Exiles, we will return to this world for a “high-profile mission gone wrong, forcing Hondo out of forced retirement to lead an experimental SWAT unit made up of unpredictable young recruits.”
