The PlayStation 4 has been around since November 2013, and even in 2025, 5 years after the PlayStation 5 was released, it continues to receive games and support from various publishers who make the most of its features.
Sony Interactive Entertainment has reportedly informed its partners that support for certain functionalities will come to an end in the spring of 2026. This means that game developers interested in utilizing these functionalities must get their games certified before the support ends.
With the PS5 approaching its 5th year on the market, boasting a strong lineup of games, exclusive PlayStation Studios blockbusters, and access to titles from major publishers like Ubisoft, EA, and Microsoft Gaming that are not available on previous generation consoles, there is a good opportunity to encourage users to make the transition, especially with temporary price cuts on the PS5.
