The latest PlayStation State of Play gave us a sneak peek into what’s coming for the PS5 in 2025. While we didn’t see many new game announcements, we did get updates on some exciting titles.
Recent Game Updates
The event kicked off with a look at Monster Hunter Wilds, set to release on February 28 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Get ready to face off against some fierce monsters, with free updates coming in spring and summer.
Shinobi: Art of Vengeance from Sega is up next, launching on August 29 for multiple platforms. And don’t miss Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, where Sonic takes the wheel in a high-speed adventure.
Game Releases and Updates
Digimon Story Time Stranger and Lost Soul Aside offer unique gameplay experiences, while Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii and Dave The Diver – Ichiban’s Holiday provide exciting demos and updates.
Splitgate 2 and WWE W2K25 bring fresh multiplayer and online features, while Borderlands 4 teases new weapons and powers in a thrilling trailer.
Directive 8020

Scheduled for release on September 4, Hell is Us will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Lies of P: Overture DLC
Prepare for Lies of P: Overture, the prequel DLC to Lies of P. Take on the role of P once again in this action and role-playing game inspired by The Adventures of Pinocchio.
Look out for Lies of P: Overture, set to release in the summer of 2025 on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Mac, and PC.
Upcoming Game Releases
The trailer for Dreams of Another, a surrealistic shooter game, is now out. Keep an eye out for its release in 2025 on PS5 and PS VR2.
Also, get ready for Days Gone Remastered, featuring new content like a speedrunning mode. The remastered edition is set to launch on April 25, 2025. Players with Days Gone on PS4 can upgrade to the digital version of the remastered edition for $10 or equivalent in their currency.
PlayStation Plus Games
Arriving on PS Plus on February 18, 2025, are Jedi Survivor, TopSpin 2K25, and Lost Records: Bloom and Rage. Lost Records: Bloom and Rage will be released in episodes, with the first episode dropping on February 18 and the second in April 2025. Plus, look out for Patapon 3 hitting the Classic Catalog soon, along with Armored Core titles.
Upcoming Indie Titles
Keep an eye out for Blue Prince, an indie title set in a mysterious moving mansion, launching in late 2025 for PS5 and PC. Abiotic Factor, a survival game for six players, will debut in the summer of 2025 on PS5.
Upcoming Release: Saros
Coming soon is Saros, a sci-fi game from the creators of Returnal, Housemarque. With the sun dying, monsters emerge, and the fate of humanity hangs in the balance. Expect the game to drop in 2026 on the PS5, with enhancements for the PS5 Pro. Watch out for the gameplay trailer releasing later this year.
