The event, held on June 6 at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles and streamed on YouTube, Twitch, and X, marked the highest number of views since its inception six years ago.
Peak simultaneous viewers during the livestream exceeded three million, with YouTube and Twitch audiences combined. YouTube alone saw a peak global viewership of over 1.5 million, a 43% increase from 2024, while average views increased by 38%. On Twitch, the event was co-streamed by over 8,900 channels, reaching a peak of over 1.4 million viewers, a 38% increase from the previous year. The event’s presentation video on YouTube has already surpassed 8 million views.
Highlights of the event included announcements and updates on titles like Resident Evil Requiem, Atomic Heart 2, Scott Pilgrim EX, Mouse: P.I. for Hire, Game of Thrones: War for Westeros, Marvel’s Deadpool VR, 007 First Light, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, and ARC Raiders. Independent games like Urban Jungle, Petal Runner, Monster Hunter Now, Thick as Thieves, and Lego Party also garnered attention in the Summer Game Fest: Play Days section.
Organized by Geoff Keighley in collaboration with the iam8bit producer, the event dominated global trends on the X network, with 17 of the top 30 topics in the US related to the Summer Game Fest. Compared to other June events like the Xbox Games Showcase or the Future Games Show, the Summer Game Fest boasted the highest audience numbers, solidifying its status as one of the most popular gaming events today.
