PlayStation 5 loses top spot in UK sales to Nintendo Switch
For the first time in 2023, the PlayStation 5 was not the best-selling console in the UK. After four months in the lead, Sony’s console was surpassed by the Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo Switch’s success fueled by The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
In its seventh year, the Nintendo Switch received one of the best games ever, and according to Gfk information shared by Chris Dring from GI.biz, May was a great month for the console, with a special boost from the game The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
PS5’s four-month reign as the UK’s No.1 console ended in May, with Switch at No.1. Nintendo’s console is only down 8% over what it did during the first 5 months of last year. But obviously the Switch release schedule is looking a bit light for the rest of the year (GfK data)
