The film The Marvels is considered, almost universally, as one of the worst from Marvel Studios and one of the worst box office performances for the company. However, director Nia DaCosta says this is not the film she wanted to make. DaCosta realized that this is now an experience and a learning process that makes her stronger as a director in terms of her ability to navigate. Marvel Studios had a deadline and was getting things ready, but everything was changing rapidly, forcing her to accept the process and “hope for the best. The best didn’t happen this time, but you have to trust the machine.”
