The iconic career mode from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 will not be making a return in the upcoming remaster by Activision, as revealed by PlayStation during the announcement of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4. Despite the assurance that the careers from both games would be included in a simplified version with 2-minute levels, fans were concerned that the immersive campaign from the fourth installment, which allowed players to freely explore an open environment, would be watered down.
According to Activision’s confirmation to Kotaku, Iron Galaxy Studios will not be incorporating the original career mode from the PS2 version into Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4. Instead, players can expect a series of challenges to complete within a 2-minute timeframe, similar to the format of the first three games.
The career mode in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 was a groundbreaking feature upon its release for the PS2, hailed as a significant advancement that laid the groundwork for the Story modes in subsequent titles. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 is scheduled for release on July 11 for Nintendo consoles, PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Game Pass.
