Falcom to Release Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Remake
Falcom is set to release Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter in a few weeks, on September 19th, but they are already gearing up for the remake of the second game, believing it’s what fans deserve.
President of Nihon Falcom Discusses Future Remakes
Toshihiro Kondo, president of Nihon Falcom, acknowledges fans’ curiosity about potential future remakes, as it can serve as a motivation for many to purchase the new game. He confirms that a remake of the second game is almost a necessity.
“Since Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is a remake of the first Trails in the Sky, if we don’t follow up with a remake of Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, people would think ‘they must be joking’,” Kondo told Automaton.
“Therefore, we want to make a remake along these lines for Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter. In 2004, we left players waiting a long time for Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter after the PC version of Trails in the Sky was released. This time, we aim to avoid such a prolonged wait.”
Kondo hints that fans may not have to wait more than 2 years for the remake of Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, suggesting a possible release in 2026, although he does not confirm this directly.
As for additional remakes beyond Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, he states that “it depends on the demand of the fans,” opting not to commit to further remakes in the series.
