After facing several delays, Ubisoft finally released its highly anticipated FPS XDefiant earlier this year. Originally set to launch last fall, the game was pushed back to May due to various issues.
Despite the extra time in production, some players felt that the release of XDefiant was rushed. One user even questioned the executive producer about whether the timing was to avoid competition from GTA 6 and Call of Duty.
Addressing the concerns, executive producer Mark Rubin explained that developing an FPS in an engine designed for MMOs presented unique challenges. He acknowledged the bugs in the game but assured players that improvements and new features would be added over time.
With Ubisoft announcing that XDefiant has already amassed 11 million players, it’s clear that the game has been well-received by the public.
